Check it out!

After hours and hours of work and the help of some great friends (thanks Tom, Wendi and Alicia) I think I am satisfied, for now at least, with our blog. I actually deleted the entire thing, thinking I messed it up beyond repair, and started from scratch. As such, I lost my previous postings. Here is the first one for those of you who missed out.

Illinois, here we are!
Our 27 hour journey came to an end Sunday August 3rd, around noon. We are unofficially, officially relocated to Illinois. We are inbetween homes right now and are trying to find a solution to that minor detail. Anthony's parents are gracious enough to let us stay with them until we find a place of our own. Alexandra has been a trooper through all of this. She learned to play hide and seek around towers of packed boxes, enjoys counting cows through Wyoming and found a trip to Wal-Mart quality entertainment. After 10 hours of driving yesterday, Wal-Mart was the only place we could think of to let her run around. She rolled a big ball up and down the isles, unloaded half a shelf of Listerine and half a bucket of shaving cream. She also rode the pony ride...what more could a one year old want on a Saturday night? Being the frugal person I am, I convinced Anthony that we could "drive straight through" so we wouldn't have to stay at a hotel. We ended up sleeping in the parking lot of a gas station. Needless to say, he wasn't happy that I was the one who was too tired to finish my driving shift. Four sets of wet baby clothes (for some reason Alexandra isn't as good at holding it as we are to accommodate stops only once every five hours), 6 sippie cups, 3 Red Bulls, 2 Subway sandwiches, a whole slew of chicken nuggets and 50 gallons of gas later...we are here! All in all it was a fun journey and I loved spending so much time with my handsome hubby. We missed out on Ben's big comeback to bicycle racing, Lindsay's romantic engagement and Megan's major trauma at the hospital (congratulations to everyone!) all in one day. But, thanks for keeping us posted. We miss all of our friends and family in Utah! We will be back in October and hope to see you then.
