Getting to know you

I recently learned that there are people who follow my blog in order to get to know my family.  So, I decided to give an update on each of us.
Sophi is almost 19 months old.  I can hardly believe how fast the time has gone and how big she has gotten.  I am amazed each day by what she knows and how she is developing her own sweet personality.  Sophi is a busy, busy baby.  If you turn your back she is bound to be up the stairs, in the fridge or in a cabinet or drawer.  She is so curious and is learning how to get what she wants.  As always though, she has a smile that melts your heart.
Ali and Sophi love each other so much.  Sophi has learned how to give hugs and kisses and is very affectionate.  These two sweet babes love to dance and play together and Sophi loves drive Alexandra crazy!
Anthony is the same old Anthony!  Work is going extremely well for him.  He will begin coaching a girls U19 AAA team this spring.  Anthony feels that his dreams are coming true with career.  He truly missed coaching a team and loves being back on the bench.  He is still as patient as always with me and the girls.  Alexandra and Sophi adore him and love spending each morning with him.
Alexandra continues to be our dancing princess (or prinpress as she calls it).  She is always singing and loves to make up her own songs.  She is rounding out her final year of preschool and continues to learn each day.  She loves her teaches and her friends.  Alexandra loves to color, play games and read books.
Sophi also loves to read books and is never far from her snack cup.
Alexandra is a big helper.  She loves to get the mail for me (don't you love the boot?  So do I - that's why I bough them for myself).
Sophi is obsessed with popcorn right now.  She will go to the cupboard and get the popcorn maker out then go to the baking drawer and get the popcorn kernels out and then come to find me.  She will haul them around saying "ca-corn, ca-corn" until you oblige her and make a bowl.  She even found the popcorn maker at my parents house.
I know this sounds silly but I was excited to dye my hair for the first time (and chop it even shorter).  I know it isn't *that* different but I am not very good with change...so a little bit at a time is best for me.

I really love Valentine's Day but I do not like going out because it is always so crowded.  So, I put together a date night for Anthony the weekend before and celebrated by getting take out sushi.  I brought out the stemware and laughed when Anthony filled it with milk.  I thought - you know you're a Mormon when this is what your glasses look like on a hot date!
And lastly, my beautiful little Ali Jo Jo in her amazing sleeping ensemble.  I nearly laughed out loud when she pulled the enormous skirt over her pants.  That child makes me smile each day.
We are a happy family.  We are learning to love our lives and all of the craziness that comes with them.  I am so grateful to have an amazing husband who works hard to provide for our family and who we miss dearly when he is gone.  I love being a mother to two very different, very wonderful baby girls who brighten my life each day.  We have been blessed with amazing extended family who care for us and help us along the way.  And most importantly, we are mindful of the hand of the Lord in our lives and are truly grateful to know of Him.
