Thank you stranger

I love to cook (I know, no big secret huh?!?) and I found the most amazing recipe blog a while ago.  I go to www.ourbestbites.com on a regular basis - okay...maybe daily.  Not only do I love their recipes but I also love the stories they share leading up to their recipes.  I can relate to their love for cooking, love of their families and love of trashy t.v!
Last week I read this post http://www.ourbestbites.com/2012/02/soft-and-chewy-snickerdoodles/ and loved the story about a total stranger helping someone in need, it truly touched my heart.  Fast forward to last Wednesday and you find me on a plane from SLC to ChiTown from 6-11 pm, with 2 littlies - yikes!  Add in a new tooth for Sophs and I was terrified of what would ensue.  Luckily, the first leg from SLC to Denver went well.  We had a short layover but remained on the same plane.  While we were waiting for the other passengers to board I asked the stewardess if the plane would be full as it had previously been she told me that there would only be 20 passengers and I did a happy dance on the inside.  After we moved a bit closer to the front the stewardess came over and began asking about the girls.  She the said something that melted my heart - she said to Sophi "We need to get to know each other better so I can take you and give mama a break".  At first I thought she was just being nice but did not plan on following up.
Once we were in the air and drink service was complete the stewardess came back to our seat (where Sophi was getting more and more anxious by the second) and asked Sophi if she wanted to go and see her.  By some miracle Sophi went right to her.  At first I was a bit apprehensive but it all melted away and I had a very peaceful, relaxing half hour while this sweet angel stewardess walked Sophi up and down the aisle of the plane, chatting with all of the passengers.  She then rocked Sophi to sleep for me and when she brought her back I nearly had tears in my eyes.
I marveled for the rest of the flight at the incredible service that was done for me.  And now, I feel compelled to express my gratitude to a stranger who went so far above and beyond what she needed to do and touched my life in an incredible way.
I made the snicker-doodles tonight and they are insanely delicious and I am sending one out to that wonderful stewardess.  I hope to have an impact on others the way she had an impact on me as I go throughout my life.  So thank you stranger!
