One thing we love around the Booth home is a good party...and it all starts with the cake! We had Anthony's family over last Sunday (8/7) to celebrate Sophi's first birthday. It was nice to keep it small but Anthony didn't realize that having only a dozen people didn't mean I would down size the cake.

Now, at first glance it doesn't look like much, but this puppy was pretty fun
The worst part was as I was *almost* finished I accidentally swiped my fingers right across the front. There was no fixing it...so I had to improvise and add a bunch of stars to fill it in. Oh well!
My one goal for the day was to get a family picture and we did - hurray!
Sophi had fin digging into her smash cake.
She was even nice enough to share with Aunt Linda.
If you are thinking "Man, she just can't get enough of that cake" You are right!
The three big kids were upstairs playing so we had Sophi start unwrapping her presents before she had *too* much help. She did surprisingly well.
And then the help came. It was really fun to celebrate our sweet Sophi baby.
Yes, the title does say "parties" so here is round one - the party in Utah. Sophi and my nephew Ryker are only 10 days apart so we did a combined party. Don't judge the shape of my 1...piecing a cake together is loads tougher than I thought it would be.
Ryker was so cute opening up his presents. You see, he actually plays with toys so they are worthwhile gifts.
Whereas Sophi only likes to get into trouble so she received a lovely box of tissues to dismantle.
And of course we need to see the cute little Ali Boo.
Sophi couldn't wait to dig into that cake.
It was funny to watch Sophi and Ryker do their cake. Sophi was pretty messy with it and Ryker would only put one finger in at a time.
Notice she even managed to get it all over the wall and floor behind her...you go girl!
And that ends it for the party times - until next year!
