My First Born - Ali Jo

I thought this was a really fun survey. You should all do it if you haven't already!

1. WAS YOUR PREGNANCY PLANNED?
Sort of...we were trying but not expecting to get pregnant quite to quickly. I wasn't mentally ready but I don't regret it one bit.
2. WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME?
Yes.
3. WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS?
I bawled! Like I said, I knew it was the right time to start a family but wasn't ready. After all of the crying, I was thrilled.
4. WAS ABORTION AN OPTION FOR YOU?
Never
5. HOW OLD WERE YOU?
22 (almost 23)
6. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT?
Uh...a pregnancy test...how else do you find out? :) I was feeling a bit off and completely depleted of energy. I knew I was pregnant but took the test just to make sure.
7. WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST?
Anthony, he did all of the consoling...he was so excited.
8. DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX?
Absolutely, I am a totally control freak and wanted to have everything planned (but I was convinced that I would have gobbs of pink and end up bringing home a boy!)
9. DUE DATE?
April 5, 2007
10. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS?
A bit in the first trimester. I think I dry heaved a couple of times and threw up only once, the morning after I took all of my finals. I was really lucky because I didn't have time to get sick (I was an emotional mess, not a physical mess)
11. WHAT DID YOU CRAVE?
I had phases, at first all I wanted were fruit roll ups and fruit snacks (when I was a bit sick), I really enjoyed Italian food but had bad heartburn and lived on Tums, when I got bigger and had to sit in class or drive a lot for work I craved Cherry Pepsi, it relaxed me.
12.WHAT IRRITATED YOU?
I don't recall...but Anthony was irritated by my obsession with the temperature. I was pregnant during the winter and was always hot so I kept turning the heat off, Anthony froze!
13. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CHILD'S SEX?
Female
14. DID YOU WISH YOU HAD THE OPPOSITE SEX OF WHAT YOU WERE GETTING?
We really wanted a boy first but love our baby girl. The funny thing is that my sister was pregnant at the same time and they wanted a girl but ended up with a boy.
15. HOW MANY POUNDS DID YOU GAIN THROUGHOUT THE PREGNANCY
Somewhere in the neighborhood of 40, but I never felt that big.
16. DID YOU HAVE A BABY SHOWER?
I had 4 (5 if you count the one my mail), I am so loved!
17. WAS IT A SURPRISE OR DID YOU KNOW?
I knew about 3 of them.
18. DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY?
Nope, not at all. I think I spent 3x's the amount of time in the OB's waiting room as I did in actual face time with the doctor.
19. WHERE DID YOU GIVE BIRTH?
Utah Valley Regional Hospital
20. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR?
That's a tricky question, my water broke at midnight but I didn't really start contracting so they put me on Pit at about 4 am. The whole even lasted about 14 hrs.
21. WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL?
Anthony
22. WHO WATCHED YOU GIVE BIRTH?
It was quite the event, Anthony was in there along with my Mom, Lindsay, Megan, a student nurse, the regular nurse and the doctor (for about 10 minutes).
23. WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION?
I had a vaginal delivery.
24. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN?
Unfortunately, I really wanted to do it with out the meds, my Mom is the queen of natural child birth, but the Pit about killed me. I made it only 10 hours. Next time I'm going to be awesome like my Mom and Megan.
25. HOW MUCH DID YOUR CHILD WEIGH?
6 lbs 7 oz 18.5 inches
26. WHEN WAS YOUR CHILD ACTUALLY BORN?
March 28, 2007
27. WHAT DID YOU NAME HIM/HER?
Alexandra Jo Booth - Anthony and I have really different tastes in names, Alexandra came to me one day and it was the only one we could agree upon. Jo is from my Mom's mom, Josephine.

I love my little Boo so much! She makes me smile each day and each time she hugs me I am reminded of how wonderful it is to be her mom. She is full of energy and determination, I guess I receieved what I deserved!
