Alexandra loves to dance in the rain. The moment she hears a patter on the roof she runs to the door and says "come on, let's dance in the rain!" She then runs out and spins in circles, catches rain drops on her tongue and laughs until she is drenched. She doesn't do this alone, she always insists that someone joins her. And I love this about her.
She has made me a little more fun, a little more flexible and a whole lot better as a person. I am learning that I need to dance in the rain more. I need to enjoy these moments more. I need to create and take advantage of these moments. I need to push away all of the stuff and dance in the rain with my little girl.
Tonight I put Sophi to bed then spent some time with just Alexandra. It was so amazing to have her tell me all about what she has been learning in school, to sing songs to me, to ask questions about the scripture stories we read earlier in the week and just simply remind me of how incredible she is.
I am trying so hard to be focus more on my sweet babies.
And then there is Sophi. You know, everyone says that Sophi is a bruiser, that she is going to be our rough and tumble kid, our hockey player. But I don't think people really know this sweet baby girl of mine. Sophi loves to snuggle, or cuddle, or snuddle! Sophi would be happy spending half the day getting on and off of the couch with a big fleece blanket - climbing on and off of your lap and burying her face into your chest. Sophi forces me to take time out - to stop what I am doing and enjoy ~ love ~ this short bit of time I have with her while she is still little. Sophi wants to do what everyone else is doing and be right in the middle most of the time, but she knows how snuddle and enjoy mommy moments.
