Benjamin Christopher Rabner

Have you ever thought about what has influenced and shaped you most in your life?  I have thought about this many times and have decided that my family has made me who I am (for better or worse).  Due to my love for my family, they will each be spotlighted.  This will be done in no particular order - so don't have your feelings hurt if you happen to be last!  I love you all equally!

So here we go with my oldest, wisest, skinniest brother - Ben.  Ben is 8 years older than me and has always been in a totally different place in his life that I have been.  I was in 5th grade when he graduated high school.  Needless to say we had a hard time finding common ground and common interests...until recently.
Ben is currently in the MBA program at BYU.  He is one of the hardest workers I know.  He is single (and a big catch!) but is the favorite uncle in our family.  Georgia is his baby girl - a beautiful golden retriever who is more spoiled than my two girls combined.  He is also a dedicated cyclist.
The last 6 months Ben has been calling me to chat on a regular basis and I have loved it.  We are forming a stronger relationship and I have gained more respect and love for him than I ever had before.

He just landed an internship with Walmart's marketing department.  I am convinced that it is more for an anthropological project than bragging rights on his mile long resume.  I mean come on...who hasn't seen the Walmartians (if you are one of those who really hasn't, I will email it to you) - that is a true study of the roots of our society.  I am super bummed that he will be in good ole' Bentonville, Arkansas this summer instead of in Utah when we go there to visit.  Perhaps we'll get him to come to Chi Town soon.
One of the attributes I admire most in Ben is his willingness to help our family.  Whether it is creating wedding invitations, painting the house, cooking dinner, babysitting, or any other crazy request, Ben is willing to help.  He goes above and beyond what is asked and often fills needs before he is asked.  I hope and pray that he will find an awesome woman to spend his life with.  He deserves to be happy!

We all love Ben. He will always have a special place in my heart. When we first met I thought he was going to kill me! But in the end it all worked out.

great words. yes anthony, he nearly did! don't worry though. on my wedding day, when ben shook weston's hand and hugged him after the ceremony, he gently but sternly said to weston, "don't you ever break her heart." i too have loved how our friendship has evolved over the past few years. ben really is a great person - as are all my siblings and in-laws!!! thanks for starting this great idea.

kels, love your previous posts - beautiful thoughts. your mind for service and loving others and making sure they know you care for them has been an admired quality since we were little. you are an example to me! you are a fantastic mom and i love sharing these "aha" moments together.
