Relief for Japan

My friend Heather called me 2 weeks ago and said "Hey, I just saw on the news that a little girl (age 3 or 4) sold her artwork on her street corner and rose $300 to send to Japan.  If she can raise that much, so can I!"  She explained her idea to put together a fundraiser to make money to support the relief effort in that devastated land.
I immediately volunteered to head up the bake sale part and volunteered my sweet sister Lindsay to make her gorgeous bows and necklaces.  She has gone above and beyond what I was expecting and I am so grateful.  She had a crafting night at her house in Atlanta and 12 of her friends got together to make items to sell at our event.  The love and service that they have offered is amazing.  My sweet sister in law in Texas is making cards and puzzle blocks to donate also.  My parents in Utah are trying to find ways to help as well.
We CAN ALL do something to help those in Japan.  It may seem that our efforts are small but our sacrifices will be worth it.
One of the amazing offers at the fundraiser will be photography by the Taylors.  They have done pictures of my girls and our family for the past year and half.  Here is my favorite picture from the most recent photo shoot (you can see all of them on my Picture Rama post from a few days ago).

Also, check out these amazing handmade items that will be available to purchase.
The baby is homemade, but not included!

If you aren't close by there are still things you can do to help.  Please post the flyer on your blog because I am sure that somehow someone in the Chicago area will see it on YOUR blog and want to join in on the fun.  You can also check out the website www.liftjapan.org to make donations.  This site has researched the organizations that are putting every single cent into the actual relief efforts on the ground - so even if you have only $5 it WILL make a difference .  No amount is too small!  Please contact me if you need more info or want flyers to hand out!
